What eDPI Means in Valorant

eDPI multiplies your mouse DPI by your in-game sensitivity — 800 × 0.35 = 280 — collapsing two settings into one comparable number. A 400 DPI player at 0.7 and an 800 DPI player at 0.35 have the sameaim. Within Valorant, eDPI is the whole story; across games, use cm/360 (shown above), because Valorant's 0.07 yaw makes its eDPI numbers look far smaller than CS2's at identical physical aim.

Where You Sit: Benchmarks

eDPITypical player
Below 200Very low — big arm swings, elite precision at range
200-320The competitive sweet spot for most ranks
320-400Standard — balanced flicks and tracking
Above 400High — wrist-heavy; consider a step down if you overshoot

These are ranges, not rules — but if you are far outside them, a two-week trial one step closer to the middle is the cheapest aim upgrade available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good eDPI in Valorant?

Most Valorant players sit between 200 and 400 eDPI, with the competitive sweet spot around 250-320. Because Valorant rewards precise micro-adjustments, lower eDPI (bigger arm movements) is more common than in faster arena shooters.

How is Valorant eDPI calculated?

eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity. 800 DPI × 0.35 = 280 eDPI. It collapses two settings into one number so Valorant setups can be compared directly — the calculator above also shows your cm/360, the truly universal measure.

Why do Valorant eDPI numbers look lower than CS2 eDPI numbers?

Valorant's sensitivity scale is about 3.18 times coarser than CS2's, so the same physical aim uses a much smaller in-game number. A 280 eDPI Valorant setup and a ~890 eDPI CS2 setup can be the exact same cm/360 — always compare cross-game aim in cm/360, not eDPI.

Should I lower my eDPI to improve aim?

If you overshoot heads at range, dropping 10-20% is the classic fix — give it a week of deathmatches, not one match. Very low eDPI below ~160 makes Valorant's tight angles and quick flicks physically hard; the table above shows where you sit.
