Zenless Zone Zero Battery Guide

Battery Charge regen, the 240 cap, when Polychrome refills are worth it, and how Backup Battery differs. · Updated 2026-11-04

The One-Paragraph Answer

Battery Charge regenerates 1 per 6 minutes, caps at 240, and refills from empty in exactly 24 hours — 240 per day. There is no overflow pool: at 240 the counter stops, and only Backup Battery items can push you above the cap.

What Battery Actually Buys

The core loop spends Battery on the Scott Outpost/Combat Simulation tiers and the Investigation Points grind — 60 per HIA club run style content, with material simulations in the 20-40 range. Like every game in the family, the weekly-limited content (Nilhility-style bosses, expert challenges) is where Battery converts to progression fastest, so the battery calculator doubles as a login timer: enter your current charge, see when the next 60 becomes available.

Polychrome Refills: The Judgment Call

Eight daily refills of 60 Battery, escalating from 50 Polychrome to 200. The same Polychrome funds limited banners — so unlike Genshin, where the first Primogem refill is defensible, ZZZ players should treat refills as emergency-only. The honest framing: the eighth refill costs more Polychrome than a tenth of a full pity cycle's worth of pulls.

Backup Battery Is Not Regeneration

Backup Battery modules (battle pass, events, coffee shop) add stored Battery abovethe cap — the only way to exceed 240. They stack with natural regen rather than pausing it, so the optimal use is saving them for double-drop events, exactly like Star Rail's Fuel.
