Wuthering Waves Pity: 50/50s, Soft Pity and the Astrite Budget

What 0.8%/66/80 really means for your Astrites — expected costs and the worst-case budget. · Updated 2026-11-04

The One-Paragraph Answer

Character Event Convenes run 0.8% base 5★ odds, guarantee a 5★ within 80 pulls, and use the classic 50/50 — a missed featured 5★ guarantees the next one. Worst case for the featured resonator: 160 pulls = 25,600 Astrites. Soft pity (community-measured around pull 66) means reality usually lands far cheaper; the calculator prices your exact position.

What 0.8%/66/80 Actually Means

The three numbers answer three different questions. 0.8% is the pull-by-pull chance before the ramp. 66 is roughly where the hidden ramp starts — pull 67 onward, the real probability climbs steeply (community-measured, since Kuro publishes only the base rate and the guarantees). 80 is the contractual floor. In practice most 5★s land between 65 and 75 pulls, which is why the expected cost of a featured character sits near half the worst-case budget.

Budgeting With the 50/50

Plan in pity cycles, not pulls: one cycle (≤80) gets you a 5★, two cycles (≤160) get you the featuredone with certainty. If you have a guarantee banked (you lost the last 50/50), halve the budget — your next 5★ is the featured character, full stop. The calculator's "guarantee active" switch exists for exactly this.

Weapon Banners Are a Different Contract

This page covers Character Event Convenes. Weapon banners run different rules and rates — verify the in-game disclosure before budgeting Astrites there, and treat any calculator that does not label its banner type as suspect.
