How Arknights Pity Works
Answer up front: the 6★ rate is a flat 2% for your first 50 pulls of a run, then climbs 2 percentage points per pull — 4% on pull 51 — until it is mathematically certain on pull 99. Unlike nearly every other game, this ramp carries between banners and only resets when you actually pull a 6★, so a banner change never wastes accumulated pity.

The Cross-Banner Carryover
The carryover changes strategy: pulling 40 times on a filler banner and leaving without a 6★ means your next banner starts at pull 41 of the ramp — entering the +2%/pull zone nine pulls later. The calculator's "current pity" input exists exactly for this: read your count from the in-game headhunting details and the odds above reflect where you really stand. On limited banners the featured operator has the 50/50 with a guarantee on miss, and 300 total pulls unlock the certificate spark — at 600 Orundum per pull, a worst-case 180,000 Orundum operator.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Arknights pity work?
The 6★ rate is a flat 2% for the first 50 pulls of a headhunting run, then climbs by +2% per pull — 4% on pull 51 — until it reaches 100% on pull 99. Unique among these games, the ramp carries across banners and only resets when you actually pull a 6★.
Does Arknights have a 50/50?
On limited banners, yes: the first 6★ has a 50% chance to be the rate-up operator, and if you lose, the next 6★ is guaranteed to be the rate-up. Standard rate-up banners use a plain share instead — every 6★ independently has the rate-up chance with no compensation.
What is the 300-pull spark in Arknights?
Limited banners let you exchange headhunting certificates for the rate-up operator after 300 pulls on that banner — the absolute worst-case cost, independent of luck. At 600 Orundum per pull that is 180,000 Orundum.
Does Arknights pity reset between banners?
No — and this is Arknights' signature mechanic: the accumulated rate ramp persists across banners until a 6★ is pulled. Your pity counter from a previous banner keeps climbing on the next one, which the calculator models via the current-pity input.
