Markup vs Margin Chart
The pricing card that ends the markup-or-margin argument: for every common markup, the matching margin, the price multiple, and a worked price on a $40 cost. Every number comes from the same formula as our markup calculator — margin = markup / (1 + markup) — so the card stays honest even if you check it.
How to use this chart
Find your markup in the left column and read across: the margin is what an accountant would report on that sale, and the multiple is what you multiply your cost by. Reading bottom-up works too — if you need a 50% margin, the chart shows it takes a 100% markup (doubling your cost).
For anything off the card — reverse solving, target-margin pricing, or profit per unit — the markup calculator and profit margin calculator cover the exact math, and the pricing strategy checklist turns the numbers into a pricing decision.
