Kitchen Conversion Chart

The fridge-door card for every scaling emergency: US customary volume measures side by side with their metric equivalents, from a single tablespoon to a full quart. Values follow the same unit definitions used by our recipe converter.

How to use this chart

Start from whatever your recipe gives you — a cup count, a tablespoon measure, or a metric amount — and read across the row for every other expression of the same volume. The fractions that recipes love (1/3 cup, 5 1/3 tablespoons) are kept as-is because that's how they appear in real recipes.

Scaling a whole recipe up or down? The recipe converter does the multiplier math (and handles Baker's percentages); this card answers the quick "how many milliliters is half a cup" questions mid-cooking.

Note: fluid ounces measure volume, not weight — 8 fl oz of honey weighs far more than 8 oz on a scale.
